Children : School Supplies
- Talk to your child’s school to see if there is a 2nd hand store that you can purchase items that your child requires. This may include text books, school uniforms, sports uniforms, choir / band uniforms etc.
- Try and buy supplies for your child out of season. When everyone is out there buying up ready for the start of the school year, the prices might be higher. If you have looked for things on special throughout the year such as back packs, school bags, lunch boxes, sports equipment etc, you can buy them at bargain prices and have the items ready for the following year.
- Don’t leave shopping for your child’s school supplies until the last minute. If you do, you won’t have any chance of getting the items for a good price. You will pay top dollar for the privilege of being in a rush and desperate to get the child ready for school.
- Check online to see if the text book your child requires is available from an online store. Don’t forget to include the postage to your price comparison.
- Buy uniforms that your child will grow into. Even if you have to have them altered for now, it will give you the opportunity to adjust the clothes as the child grows. If you buy them so they fit perfectly now, in a couple of months, you might find you have to replace them all again.
