Children : Outings
- If you are going somewhere and you think your children should have a treat when you are out, take your treat with you. It will be cheaper for you to buy this beforehand. This might be taking along a big bag of corn chips, or some lollies / chocolates, or a flavoured milk drink.
- When travelling in the car, ensure you have plenty of quick to grab snacks and treats for your children. This might include some nice cold fruit juice poppers, pieces of fruit, muesli bars, dried fruit, nuts etc. This will save the whinging for you to stop at a take away place as the kids are hungry.
- Do up a calendar of when you are taking your children to special places such as McDonalds, theme park etc. Limit these events to a couple of times throughout the year. If the children ask to go to these places in-between, then they get a black mark. If they end up getting three black marks because they asked three times, it means they miss out on the activity all together. This will stop your children from asking!
- Just learn to say ‘no’ to your children. They will soon learn not to keep asking you for things. If you keep caving in and buying them things or letting them have their way, then of course they will keep asking and nagging you.
- Outings do not have to cost you a fortune. The best things in life are free! Children will appreciate spending time with you rather than you spending loads of money on them.
