Children : Lunches
- Get your children in the habit of taking their lunch to school from an early age. It will be hard to suddenly change them from tuck shop each day to home made lunch. Give them their lunch from day one.
- Lead by example. If you expect your child to take their lunch to school, you should be making your own lunch at the same time and taking that to work.
- Add variety to your child’s lunch so they look forward to eating it. Maybe ask them each day what they would like you to make for them to take to school by giving them a couple of options.
- Ensure you pack food that will stay fresh and appetising for your child. There is nothing worse than soggy tomato sandwiches or pudding that has gone off because of the heat.
- Help your child with their food. Don’t send them to school with a whole orange that will be impossible for them to peel and eat. Cut fruit up for them and give it to them in easy to eat portions.
