Babies : Linen & Manchester
Sleeping is one of three main things your newborn will do once they enter the world, so having a comfortable place for the baby to sleep is important (and for Mum and Dad so they can get their rest too!). Below are 5 saving money tips on linen and manchester:
- Sheet Sets
- If you have older sheets with a hole in them, you may be able to salvage an area that could be converted into a cot or bassinet sheet.
- Blanket
- Enlist Grandma’s or Great Grandma’s to knit a baby blanket to help keep bub warm. This would make a nice keepsake also.
- Wraps
- If you are handy on the sewing machine you might like to make your own wraps. Generally these are 1m x 1m pieces of material, with a hem sewn into each edge. You can pick up muslin or flannelette material from most material shops.
- Towels
- When it comes to babies there are all kinds of baby towels on the market – cute white ones, one’s with hoods etc. Realistically all you need is a towel to dry bub after a bath or shower and you don't need to spend a fortune.
- Washers
- If you are running low on washers you could cut up an old towel and hem the edges.
PLEASE ENSURE: that you read the safe sleeping standards released from SIDS (www.sidsandkids.org) when it comes to preparing your baby for sleeping.
