• Install energy efficient light bulbs / lamps / lights.
  
• Arrange to have off peak power with your power company to take advantage of the benefits of lower priced electricity used outside of peak times.
  
• Install insulation in your home to reduce the costs of running heating or air conditioning units. Also ensure your roof space is sufficiently ventilated.
  
• Set the thermostat on any heating or air conditioning units appropriately as each degree difference can save you electricity. Your electricity supplier will be able to advise you in this regard.
  
• Try doing your washing in cold / warm water instead of hot water.
