Holidays And Travel: Accommodation
- Take advantage of any last minute deals which many businesses offer up to 14 -28 days ahead. You can either contact the hotel / motel / resort / apartments in advance or make use of the many internet sites that have last minute accommodation deals and packages.
- Explore all options for your accommodation. You don't need to travel using 5 star hotels if this doesn't suit your budget. You might like to consider doing a camping trip, staying in caravan parks, using a lower star motel / hotel, staying in B&B, hiring a cabin.
- Do you see yourself travelling in a camper van? This way you get your car hire and sleeping quarters all rolled into one. Surf the net, talk to your travel agents and compare prices. Don't forget to include any charges to park your camper van in a caravan park for the night if you want facilities.
- Always try and book ahead. Buying accommodation on the day, especially if it is quite late when you check in is going to cost you more, especially if the establishment know that you have no other alternative.
- Consider the option of doing a house sit for someone whilst they go away. You could look after their house, pets and garden whilst having the extra benefit of being able to explore their town / city and the local attractions.
