Why Was Money Detective Formed?

Money Detective was formed to help people financially through education on a variety of money management strategies. Every day we see statistics of people going further into debt, families struggling to meet their living costs and ‘savings’ becoming an outdated term.

Good money management skills don’t often come naturally, but it is certainly a skill that is quite easy to learn. With education and understanding, the principals of saving and budgeting can provide significant rewards.

Money Detective recognises the need for this education and aims to help people:

• Put in place an effective budget for themselves and their family
• Reduce their debts
• Start a savings plan
• Think about their future goals and their dreams
• Remove money stresses and worries

How Money Detective was formed?

Money Detective was established by Heather, Lesley and Loraine who have an extensive backgrounds in the financial services industry. Having worked together previously in another financial services firm, the team recognised their combined skills and experiences as well as a strong passion for helping others get ahead in life. To fulfil each of their individual passions, Money Detective was born.

Our Name – Why “Money Detective’?

Often budgeting, saving and getting ahead financially is not a natural skill, so this is usually considered a ‘mystery’ for most people. Our logo incorporates a run-away dollar, which is how most people feel about their hard earned salary – it seems to have disappeared by the end of the pay period and they await the count down to the next pay day. To most it is a puzzle where all of their money goes.

Money Detective is about unlocking these secrets and solving the case for people, so they are no longer seeing their money vanish. This involves uncovering the truth about people’s financial situations and discovering what habits or actions may be contributing to these missing dollars. It also involves forming an actionable plan to turn their situation around. Rather than seeing this money vanish down ‘black holes’, they are plugged and people find there is more money in their pocket at the end of the day. This is the new path to a bright future filled with less stress as the ‘mystery’ about how to achieve financial freedom is solved.

Just like any detective whose role is to solve the crime, Money Detective can help you solve your case and find your missing dollars.

Our bi-line was created to provoke the thought ‘where does my money go?’ in the minds of people. For most people, this is a mystery. Their money just vanishes. Again the first step in initiating change is learning from the past and understanding what allows the dollars to just escape from our wallets / purses each week.

Our main goal is to improve the financial wellbeing of our general population by providing factual information, education and practical tools. We aim to be at the forefront of change and a leader in our industry.

Through the products and services both on offer now and in the future, we aim to improve the financial standing of our members through a step by step process that accounts for different stages in life and financial understanding. This information is to be delivered in a practical, down to earth manner without the ‘high tech’ jargon that is often associated with the finance industry.

Currently our focus is on developing money management products and services around budgeting, saving, goal setting and debt reduction. Our long term goal is to add to our suite a range of products around investments and to provide wealth creation coaching.

We are also aiming to provide an opportunity for members of Money Detective to interact with likeminded people who want to get ahead and share resources and ideas.
